The operational programming for The VariClave^® has been thoughtfully developed and thoroughly tested. The proprietary VariClave^® Three Phase Process and Automatic Variable Parametric Settings ensure efficient and efficacious treatment of your Regulated Medical Waste.

•	The installed system programming includes: cycle programming and a recordkeeping database of cycle history, machine usage, operator training and alarm occurrence.

•	The cycle programming capability provides the user with a selection of cycle types. The operating characteristics of each cycle type have been individually tested and validated for efficacy to suit each material type and its containerization method.

•	There are three wet steam cycles standard and one dry heat cycle available. The wet steam cycles have three phases:

•	Phase 1 is for heat-up, the treatment of airborne pathogens and air removal. This cycle can be repeated up to five times to ensure the complete removal of air from the chamber and process material.

•	Phase 2 is for the sterilization of the material. During this phase, the chamber is maintained at the pressure and temperature set points for a period to heat the process material to the “kill” temperature for sterilization.

•	Phase 3 employs the vacuum pump to dry and cool the process material and a directional spray manifold to cool the bin for safe removal.

The program is designed to automatically vary the process parameters based on the cycle type selected and the weight of the material to be processed.

The programming also includes a searchable database. Information regarding usage, process cycles, maintenance, operator training and alarms is recorded in the database. This information is maintained for a period of seven years in a compressed format on the systems 4GB hard drive. After seven years of data logging, the oldest data is automatically deleted from the database.

A writable CD ROM drive is also included along with a file export system for removable storage of data.
