The processing chamber is fabricated of 304, welded,
stainless steel. This chamber carries an ASME ‘U’
stamp. |
| |
|
| • |
The chamber is 158 inches long (maximum capacity
600 pounds per cycle), 76 inches in width, and 96
inches in height at the door end. The chamber is design
rated for installation up to and including seismic zone IV. It is a horizontal cylinder having at one end a
manually operated, quick opening, left hinged door. |
| |
|
| • |
The door is latched in the closed position by an array of latch bars that are manually operated by a 30 degree
turn of the spindle. The latch bars are pneumatically locked automatically in the latched position at the
initiation of the process cycle. |
| |
|
| • |
The pneumatic door seal is actuated automatically at the initiation of the process cycle, and is continuously
monitored during the process cycle. |
| |
|
| • |
Rails and guides are mounted internally to provide easy alignment and movement of the processing bins into
and out of the chamber. |
| |
|
| • |
Two sets of water spray manifolds are fitted to the inside of the chamber. One set is directionally mounted and
equipped with fan pattern spray nozzles to cool the bin before removal. The other manifold is equipped with
spiral pattern spray nozzles to wash out the bin when the wash cycle is selected. |
| |
|
| • |
The chamber is externally fitted with a liquid ring vacuum pump sufficiently sized to draw vacuum on the
chamber. |
| |
|
| • |
Mounted at the entrance to the processing chamber is a floor scale and radiation monitor. |
| |
|
| • |
Penetrations, valves, stainless steel pipe, fittings and hoses are provided and fitted as necessary for equipment
operation. |
